Changing your password
To change your Stern Password, your account must be activated and you must have Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) set up.

If you have not activated your NYU account, or have forgotten your password, please see the information here: NYU NetID, Password, and Start Page
Most current NYU community members will be required to have MFA set up, please do so here: Set up your MFA
Follow these instructions to change your password:
Log into SIMON using your NYU (not Stern) credentials (NetID and NYU password)
You will be directed to the Stern Password Reset page.
3. Enter your New Password. It must be at least 14 characters, including a minimum of one letter, one number, and one special character such as "!, @, #, $," etc. NOTE: The "%" and "&" characters are not allowed in your password and you cannot use your Stern username as part of your password.
a. Do not reuse a password you have used in the past.
b. Do not use a password you use for any other account.
c. Do not set your Stern password to be the same as your NYU account password.
4. Re-enter the new password in the 'Confirm Password' field.
5. Click Submit.
6. Click OK to confirm your new password.
7. You will see a "Password changed successfully…" message. It may take up to 15 minutes before the new password will work on all Stern systems.
